Girdles increase the torsional rigidity of the cylinder block and evenly distributes load and dampens harmonics by bolting the main cap studs together. The increased rigidity and strength of these girdles on the bottom end allows extra stress to be placed on these motors. Highly modified vehicles using Nitrous Oxide, Turbochargers or Superchargers can aid from these girdles as the increased stress on the cylinder block is reduced. Nissan Micra ELLE: It’s a Micra for the Ladies
Fri, 24 Aug 2012Nissan has revealed a limited edition Micra – the Micra ELLE – produced in conjunction with Elle Magazine. There is a strong argument that the Nissan Micra is predominantly aimed at the fairer sex, and if that was in doubt the new Micra ELLE confirms it. Nissan has joined up with Elle Magazine to produce a limited run of 500 of the Micra Elle with cosmetic titivation (what else?) including panoramic roof (helps with putting makeup on), extra chrome (nice and sparkly), titanium grey alloys (which will unfortunately show every kerbing dent) and fog lights (for when it’s not foggy).

That's more than double the sticker price of a base 2012 Camaro coupe, which starts at $24,100 including shipping charges, and more than a base 2012 Chevrolet Corvette coupe, which starts at $50,500. The 2012 Camaro ZL1 packs a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 rated at 580 hp and 556 lb-ft of torque.
